FAQ

  • When/How do I send photos of my pet?
You may use the Upload button in the Contact section to send photos. Alternatively, you may email photos to amanda@myanimalart.com, or text them to (415) 710-0397. Send photos at any time, before or after ordering. You may also share links to online photo collections on Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Dropbox, etc, via email.
  • How do I choose which photos to send?! They're all adorable!
The more photos, the better! If you're having a hard time choosing which pose to use, I can help you decide. For most portraits, natural lighting is best. Photos taken outdoors, or with natural sunlight indoors make the most interesting portraits. The best photos are sharp, not blurry. If your pet has long passed, and you only have one or two blurry shots, that's ok. Send me what you have and we will find a way. If you have a favorite pose or look, or feel one photo shows your pet's personality best, please let me know. That's usually the best one to use.
  • Can you put all my pets in one portrait?
Yes! Depending on how many animals you have, there will be a minimum size for your art. My tools only get so small, so it's difficult to fit three animals on an 8x10 inch canvas, for example. Please contact me with your needs, and I'll let you know the minimum size and price. Multiple animals in one painting will increase the price. Sometimes a better option is to do several smaller portraits, instead of one big one. If we decide that is the case, I'm happy to do a discount on multiple portraits.
  • How do I know I'm going to love my portrait?
Hopefully you chose me because you like the other work I've done, and you trust my artistic direction. *BUT* please rest assured that I typically send at least one progress photo during the art-making process (except with Technicolor portraits, which are usually finished in one sitting). You will have the opportunity at that point to offer feedback and request changes. You'll also receive a photo of the final art before I package it, and will have the opportunity to request adjustments at that point as well. I work on your art until you're happy with it!
  • What are the shipping options?
I am located in the United States of America, but can ship anywhere in the world. All artwork is sent with Tracking and Insurance. Please contact me for a shipping quote outside of the US. Standard shipping prices and times will show up near the end of checkout, but if you need faster processing/shipping time, please let me know. Shipping costs listed are from the US Postal Service, but I am open to using other carriers. Prices will vary with other shipping services.
  • What do I do if I receive damaged artwork?
All packages are sent with Insurance, so if you notice damage, please let me know right away. I take great care in packaging my artwork, but accidents can happen. Rest assured I will make things right.
  • How do I contact you if my question isn’t answered here?
The easiest way to contact me is via email at amanda@myanimalart.com, or via text to (415) 710-0397. You may also use the contact form on this website.
